Jason Wolfe is an artist living and working in western Massachusetts. His interests lie in the exploration of creative mark making as the subject of his paintings.  There is an enigmatic story being told with the weaving together of color, texture, and form in his collage like approach.

Jason worked as a painter for many years supplementing his income by working with his hands as a carpenter.  As time went on, he was led to start his own construction company and for many years his paintings took a back seat to the building of his company.  In the beginning of 2022, during the cold winter months of February in New England, when everything seems dormant and lifeless, he dipped his brushes back into the thinner and began smearing oil paint across canvas with brushes, buckets, cups and his hands.  His exploration of imagery had been brimming up within him for the 8 years that he had set his brushes down for.

His energy for painting as a creative means is evident and he would tell you that during the years spent without painting he was always studying, scrutinizing and processing, unknowingly building a database of inspiration for this new body of work.
